The banding station is an excellent opportunity to see birds up close and to learn about birds that live or migrate through the Brazosport Area. Watch volunteers collect baseline data on bird populations at the sanctuary.
Volunteers gather at 9 a.m. in Surfside at Stahlman Park and Quintana at Quintana Beach County Park for a general beach clean-up. Dress for the weather and bring along some water. Supplies provided. Free meal afterward. For more information, call 979-864-1541.

Once a prosperous sugar plantation, the site was destroyed by the same hurricane that devastated Galveston.
