Children will be taught rules of safety by various representatives from the community. They will be visited by the local police and fire departments with a hands on look at their jobs, uniforms, and equipment.
A miniature town complete with streets, sidewalks, buildings, and traffic devices will create a child-size but life-like area where children can practice crossing the street safely and obeying traffic signs and signals.
Safetytown is available for children who have attended Kindergarten in the Brazosport Independent School District and will enter first grade in August 2018. It will also be open to children entering 2nd grade, who did not attend Safetytown last year.
