During April thousands of migratory songbirds arrive at stopover habitat along the coast in Quintana. At Spring Fling, Gulf Coast Bird Observatory volunteers and staff provide local birding information, bird checklists, sell snacks, post the daily bird list on the white board, and help identify birds for novice birders.
Features a 30-foot dome equipped with a Spitz Star Ball projector to produce the night sky as it appears to the naked eye, together with a large variety of high tech equipment to give a close- up feel for things like comets, exploding stars, and black holes.
