Brazosport Area Chamber of Commerce

This museum exhibit features educational panels about Christmas traditions, photographs of Christmases dating back to the 1900s, Christmas activities for families, and a beautiful interior Christmas display in the Exhibit Hall.

Visit the historic archeological site of Major Abner Jackson, the namesake of the city of Lake Jackson. Once a prosperous sugar plantation, the site was destroyed by the same hurricane that devastated Galveston. Discover the sugar making process of the 1840s and how convict labor replaced slave labor during the 1870s.

The banding station is an excellent opportunity to see birds up close and to learn about birds that live or migrate through the Brazosport Area. Watch volunteers collect baseline data on bird populations at the sanctuary.
